Pronghorn Poaching Case Solved, Thanks To Colorado K9

(CBS4) - A Colorado Parks and Wildlife K9 helped find the person who illegally poached a pronghorn antelope last month. CPW says Samson found the arrow that killed a male pronghorn in South Park off Highway 24. That's a few miles west of Wilkerson Pass.

That arrow led CPW to the person they say shot the animal from the highway.

Jason Clay, a spokesman for CPW, said wildlife officers eventually located a vehicle matching the description of the one seen leaving the area of the poaching. The occupants of the vehicle said they had been hunting. In their possession were arrows matching the one that killed the pronghorn.

One individual paid fines totaling $552.50.
