DENVER (CBS4) - Strong southerly winds ahead of an approaching storm system brought the warmest Nov. 16 to eastern Colorado in 75 years.

At 1:24 p.m. the temperature at Denver International Airport hit 80 degrees, which not only broke the daily record of 77 degrees set in 1941, but also tied the all-time warmest November temperature of 80 degrees set on Nov. 8, 2006.

It's also now the latest an 80 degree reading has been measured in the Denver climate record.

Boulder hit 80 degrees setting both a new daily record and an all-time high for the month of November.
