DENVER (CBS4) – Police in Denver are looking for a brazen burglar who hit a restaurant in the middle of the dinner rush.

The burglary happened last Wednesday around 7 p.m. at the Fresh Fish Company off Hampden Avenue. Owners shared their surveillance video with CBS4.

The burglar can be seen casing out the back of the business, and then making his way in the front door and through the restaurant into the business office.

Karen Kristopeit Parker is a co-owner of the longtime restaurant. She says the thief can be seen looking at doors and plotting out his escape.

The video inside the business office shows a good shot of the suspect’s face. Parker says what can’t be seen on camera is that a second door that was busted in by the thief.

“He was able to break down the back cash room door and stole a large amount of money,” she said. “This makes me feel violated, this makes me feel angry that somebody would come into my place of business and blatantly come in and steal and take my cash that we work so hard for … thank goodness none of my staff members or guests were injured. I want to catch this guy.”

Parker’s concern now is for the neighboring businesses. She worried they too could be hit if the thief isn’t caught.
