As a Colorado native, she grew up in Centennial, graduated from Heritage High School and went on to earn a Bachelor of Arts degree in journalism from the University of Denver.
Jennifer is an award-winning journalist who comes to CBS4 from KSEE 24 in Fresno, California where she anchored the 4 p.m., 5 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. weeknight newscasts. Her time in Fresno garnered an Associated Press award for a month long investigation into the Central Valley’s largest local fire department that revealed underfunding, lack of resources and a severe shortage of staff and equipment. Her story grabbed the attention of the entire City Council and spurred the mayor to revisit the city’s budget.
Prior to Fresno, Jennifer worked at WTLV in Jacksonville, Florida where she had the unique opportunity to cover North Florida’s first chance at hosting a Super Bowl. She also reported the “one-two” punch of a busy 2004 hurricane season and she picked up a spot news EMMY nomination and “Best of Gannett” award for her reporting during Florida’s fire season.
Jennifer was the morning show co-anchor at KLTV in Tyler, Texas before moving to Jacksonville. She covered many major stories including the disaster of Shuttle Columbia. Her first broadcast journalism job was on home turf at KACT in Aurora.
Jennifer says she has had many accomplishments in her life including having the opportunity to interview former Soviet leader Mikhail Gorbachev, B.B. King, Diane Sawyer, Charlie Gibson and Hugh Hefner. By far though, her proudest accomplishment is her son, Dylan who is as delighted as Jennifer to be back home with the support and love of family!
