Denver Records Fourth Warmest October Since 1872

**Editor's Note: When this story was published at 6:42 p.m. on Oct. 31 Denver was tied for the second warmest October on record with an average temperature of 57.9°. But at 11:59 pm, the temperature dropped to 45°, which lowered the monthly average by a tenth of a degree, making it the fourth warmest October on record.**

DENVER (CBS4) - October 2016 will be remembered for record warmth across much of Colorado. In Denver it tied for the second warmest since temperature records began in 1872.

The following new record highs were set during the month...

  • 85 degrees on Oct. 15 (old was 83°)
  • 83 degrees on Oct. 27 (old was 80°)
  • 82 degrees on Oct. 28 (old was 80°)

 

There was also a new record high daily minimum set on October 28 when the overnight low only fell to 55°.
