Harris: Broncos Offense, Line Is 'Speeding Things Up'

DENVER (CBS4) - The injury bug has bit the Broncos offensive line, and one of their starters will not be able to play on Sunday against the Vikings.

Is Ty Sambrailo's shoulder injury, sustained against the Lions last Sunday, a cause for concern beyond this week? And what about Evan Mathis's sore hamstring?

The Broncos made an insurance play by adding lineman Tyler Polumbus this week.

On the CBS4 Football Blitz guest Ryan Harris, another member of the Broncos OL squad, told Vic Lombardi Polumbus should be able to jump in an play if needed in Sunday afternoon's matchup.

"You're talking about an established starter who has played a lot of snaps in the NFL," Harris said. "So anytime you can add that kind of experience to the team we're better off for it."

The offensive line had some troubles keeping quarterback Peyton Manning upright in the Broncos first two games, but they did a much better job in Week 3. Harris says it's a sign of progress.

"We focused all week on improving both run and pass and we feel we've started to get the gears moving and we just want to speed those gears up, keep them moving and improve this week as well," he said.

Brandon Marshall was also a guest on the show, and he said one of the main focuses for the defense will be stopping Vikings running back Adrian Peterson.

"The guy's big, strong, fast, explosive. He's everything that you want in a running back," Marshall said. "He'll make something out of nothing. That's what he has done his whole career."
