Heavy Rain Causing Flooding In Colorado Springs

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (AP) - Heavy rain has caused some minor flooding in and around Colorado Springs, but there were no immediate reports of major problems over the two large burn areas there.

Lt. Jeff Kramer of the El Paso County sheriff's office says a one-block stretch of a road through Black Forest was closed Monday afternoon because of water on it.

The Waldo Canyon burn area was also hit by storms, but there were no immediate reports of damage.

The Gazette reports that some roads were shut down because of flooding. Power was temporarily knocked out to about Colorado Springs Utilities 2,300 customers.
