Ward: Football IQ A Key To Broncos 'No Fly Zone' Success

DENVER (CBS4) - The starters in Denver's secondary have 28 years of combined NFL experience.

Safety T.J. Ward, a member of Denver's "No-Fly Zone," expressed surprise when CBS4's Michael Spencer informed him of just how long he, fellow safety Darian Stewart, plus cornerbacks Aqib Talib and Chris Harris have been in the league.

"I didn't actually know it was that many years," Ward said with a laugh on the CBS4 Football Blitz.

"We've had so much football and our IQ is so high between the four of us, that we just kind of feed off each other."

The Broncos pass defense is currently ranked No. 1 in the league.

Ward said the secondary stays humble, which always helps them improve.

"We take criticism, no one's above criticism and we just try to help each other out in any way. It's what's best for the back end of the defense, not what's best for you at that point in time. We've got to make the whole thing work.

"So those guys are great playing with them and it's been wonderful."
