Suspect At Large Following Officer-Involved Shooting
THORNTON, Colo. (CBS4) - An investigation of shots fired by a citizen resulted in an officer-involved shooting in Thornton Saturday night.
Police said officers responded to reports of several shots fired at Creekside Apartment Homes in Thornton. When officers arrived, three suspects fled on foot. An officer shot one of the suspects and a gun was recovered.
One other suspect was later arrested. The third suspect was still at large.
Thornton Police said the recovered handgun had been fired, confirming reports of original shots fired. Several shell casings from that gun were also recovered.
The male suspect who was shot was transported to the hospital with unreleased injuries.
