Record Heat for the Second Day in a Row

By Ed Greene

DENVER (CBS4) - With the cloud cover on Friday, you might expect that we would be cooler than yesterday's record high of 83 degrees...and we were...by just one single degree! Once again the record high for today's date was 80 degrees set back in 1968 and we broke it by two degrees when we reached a high of 82.

Now cooler air begins to invade the state and that will cool us by nearly 10 degrees for Saturday - look for partly cloudy skies and a high in the low 70s but that is still be warmer than normal for this time of year by nearly a dozen degrees. Expect more of the same on Sunday with a high in the mid 70s and little change for Monday - Halloween: mostly sunny with a high in the low 70s.

Somewhat cooler air arrives for Tuesday with a high in the mid 60s under partly sunny skies. For Wednesday, cooler still - high in the low to mid 60s with the slightest chance of an isolated shower.
