Late April Storm Good News For Southern Colorado

By Chris Spears

DENVER (CBS4) - Last week's cold, wet weather may have been miserable for weekend plans but it was just about perfect for farmers and ranchers in southern Colorado.

The storm brought enough moisture to knock down an area of moderate drought that had been developing since early April.

There are still a few pockets where conditions are considered to be abnormally dry on the southeast plains and in the southwest mountains.

Two following two maps show how drought conditions changed between April 28 and May 5.
