Ramp Closures Set To Take Place For Final Traffic Shift Of US 6 Project

DENVER (CBS4) - The last major traffic shift of the U.S. 6 Bridges Design Build project will cause some extended ramp closures this week through the weekend.

Beginning Monday, October 5 at 10 p.m. and lasting through Monday, October 12 at 5 a.m. the ramps from eastbound U.S. 6 to Federal Boulevard, and from Federal Boulevard to eastbound U.S. will be closed.

The Colorado Department of Transportation recommends using Wadsworth or Sheridan Boulevards to access Federal Boulevard or to access eastbound U.S. 6.

Friday, October 9 at 10 p.m. the ramp from eastbound U.S. 6 to southbound Interstate 25 will be closed, lasting until Monday, October 12 at 5 a.m.

CDOT recommends drivers use Colfax or Alameda Avenues to access onto southbound I-25 during the closure.

When all of the ramps reopen Monday, October 12, eastbound U.S. 6 drivers wanting to access I-25 will enter new collector-distributor lanes near Federal Boulevard.

Drivers wanting to access I-25 from Federal Boulevard will no longer have to merge onto eastbound U.S. 6, but will use these new collector-distributor lanes to bypass U.S. 6 and access southbound I-25.
