The Wild Feathers Picked As Headliner Band Of Rock 'n' Roll Marathon

DENVER (CBS4) - Southern rockers The Wild Feathers will perform on The Rock 'n' Roll Denver Marathon & 1/2's headliner stage in October.

The Wild Feathers are a Nashville band with roots in Texas and Oklahoma, and their music has a bluesy and hard rock feel.

"We're about music, we're about having fun, we're about supporting the runners every single mile along the route, so we have bands or some form of music every mile, and then a big headliner concert at the finish at Civic Center Park," said race spokesman and former Olympian Alan Culpepper.

All the bands on the course are local bands, but the headliner band at the end that was chosen is a touring band.

"They are kind of up and comers," said Culpepper, referring to The Wild Feathers. "So those are the ones we like to tap into. People might be starting to hear them on the radio and then by race day they are like 'Oh yeah, I know these guys.' "
