The High Park Fire on June 10 (credit: CBS)
FORT COLLINS, Colo. (CBS4) – Communication problems from the High Park Fire are a possibility as the fire is threatening some cell towers and some two way radio signal service.
KUNC, which provides public radio to listeners in much of Northern Colorado, was knocked off the air Sunday because of the fire, according to their website.
“We are sad to report that our main transmitter site at Buckhorn Mountain is threatened by the High Park Fire. KUNC is currently off the air on our main frequency 91.5 FM.”
By Monday afternoon the radio station had restored a lower-power signal at their main frequency but it wasn’t stretching as far across the state as their normal setup.
Visit the KUNC website for more details.
