Denver's New Partnership To Offer Alternative Response To Homeless Camps
DENVER (CBS4)- A new partnership in Denver hopes to provide a better alternative response to homeless encampments. Denver Mayor Michael Hancock announced the partnership with the Early Intervention Team and Denver's 311 operations team.
Those who call about homeless encampments will be redirected from the Denver Police Department to 311 instead. Operators will then be able to direct the caller to the right departments so city staff can better respond to those experiencing homelessness.
