BROOMFIELD, Colo. (CBS4) — The Broomfield Police Department says there was a 182% increase in illegal fireworks calls this year compared to 2019.

Broomfield police says they got 134 reports on the 4th of July — the highest in a week long period of specialized fireworks enforcement. From June 28 to July 5 there were 220 calls. There were 78 in that time period last year.
