Colorado Lawmakers Approve Remote Casting Of Votes

DENVER (CBS4)- The state House approved new rules on Wednesday that would allow Colorado lawmakers to cast votes remotely during a public health emergency.

The resolution passed in a party-line vote, with Republicans largely opposing the measure. Supporters say remote participation allows lawmakers to represent their communities without risking their lives.

At least 15 other states have passed similar resolutions in response to the coronavirus pandemic.
