Cherry Canyon Fire Grows More Than 2,000 Acres
LAS ANIMAS COUNTY, Colo. (CBS4) - The Cherry Canyon Fire grew to 9,602 acres, up from 7,390 acres reported on Friday. The fire has been burning in Las Animas County since Wednesday.
Firefighters say lightning caused the fire. Crews have not been able to contain the fire which is burning mostly grass.
It is burning outside of Kim, which is about 60 miles east of Trinidad.
