4X4 Road At Great Sand Dunes Closed After Flash Flooding

(CBS4) - A 4x4 road in Great Sand Dunes National Park and Preserve is closed after flash flooding badly damaged it. A storm on Tuesday in the San Luis Valley dumped hail and heavy rain in the park.

The main paved road that leads in and out of the park remains open to visitors but the Medano Pass primitive road is off limits until further notice. The road is only accessible to drivers with high clearance 4x4 vehicles.
