Oil & Gas Drilling Rules Change Around Schools
DENVER (CBS4)- The state's oil and gas industry has agreed to distance oil and gas drilling from schools. The Colorado Oil & Gas Commission changed what's called the state's school setback rules.
The current distance of 1,000 feet does not change, however what is considered the edge of the school has. For instance, oil and gas drilling must take place 1,000 feet from school property and athletic fields -- not just the school's building.
