Family Escapes Burning Home, Firefighters Rescue Family Dog

LAKEWOOD, Colo. (CBS4)- Crews with West Metro Fire Rescue rushed to put out a garage fire in Lakewood. The flames burned a garage near Pierce Street and Jewell Avenue.

Firefighters say the family escaped the burning home but one of the family's three dogs ran back inside. Firefighters were able to rescue the dog.

Crews treated the dog at the scene. What caused the fire is being investigated.
