New Jersey Man Missing In Rocky Mountain National Park, Snow Hampers Search

ROCKY MOUNTAIN NATIONAL PARK, Colo. (AP) — A search continues for a 30-year-old New Jersey man missing in Rocky Mountain National Park in north-central Colorado.

Ryan Albert of Marlton, New Jersey left Denver Thursday. Family members reported him overdue Friday. His rental car was found at the Longs Peak trailhead Friday afternoon.

Park spokeswoman Lindsay Lewis says Monday's search was limited to the lower elevations of Longs Peak due to snow, ice and low visibility.

Lewis said four teams of technical rescuers were in the field Tuesday facing winter mountaineering conditions. Snow has been falling in the area with another 3 inches expected Tuesday and an additional 7 inches forecast overnight.

Park officials do not know how much climbing experience Albert has. He was not required to file a permit for a day hike.
