Poll: Westerners Oppose Higher Fees For National Parks
DENVER (CBS4) - A new poll finds nearly half of voters in the West oppose a rate hike at national parks.
The Conservation in the West poll surveyed 400 registered voters in eight western states, including Colorado.
Of those surveyed, 49 percent say they do not want to see entrance fees increase to $70 during peak season.
The poll also found Coloradans strongly support policies to protect public lands, with 68 percent saying the White House should place more emphasis on conservation.
The Conservation in the West poll is released annually by the Colorado College State of the Rockies Project.
