DENVER (CBS4 – Police say the shooting that happened near 29th Avenue and Downing Saturday night started as an attempted robbery.

Police say the shooting happened before 8 p.m. near a liquor store.

The adult male victim was a clerk in the store and he is expected to survive his injuries.
