RIFLE, Colo. (CBS4) – An SUV hit a bear and rolled over, killing three people including a child early Friday morning on Interstate 70 near Rifle.
Crews flew two other children hurt in the crash to Children’s Hospital in Aurora.
The SUV was traveling westbound at 3:30 a.m when it hit the bear and rolled into the eastbound lanes, according to Colorado State Patrol.
A total of seven people were inside the SUV. Others were taken to local hospitals in Mesa County.

The people who were killed were all from New Castle. They were identified as:
Kimberly Hernandez, 7
Brizeyda (aka Brizeida) Hernandez, 15
Eugenio Hernandez Altamirano, 63
