DENVER (AP) — Thomas Neff scored 15 points, C.J. Bobbitt had 12 points and six rebounds, and Joe Rosga’s 3-pointer with one second left lifted Denver to a 73-70 win over Northern Colorado on Saturday.
Rosga, who leads Denver (6-5) at 17.2 points per game, had missed all seven previous field-goal attempts — including three 3-pointers — before his game-winner went through. He finished with four points.
Jon’te Dotson’s 3-pointer tied it for the Bears at 70 with 20 seconds left.
Northern Colorado (3-7) led 67-65 on Chaz Glotta’s NBA-range 3-pointer with 46 seconds left, but Denver’s Jake Pemberton answered with a layup to tie it at 67 and made the foul shot to give the Pioneers a 68-67 lead. Jake Krafka added two free throws with 26 seconds left to build the lead to 70-67.
DJ Miles, who assisted Dotson on the game-tying 3, made 14 of 15 from the free-throw line for Northern Colorado and finished with 22 points. Jordan Davis added 14 points but committed eight turnovers and was one of three Bears to foul out.
