DENVER (CBS4) – “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story” blasts into Denver area theaters Friday.

And a lot of places are ready to celebrate the latest installment in the Star Wars saga with special events.



The Alamo Drafthouse in Littleton is toasting the new addition to the Star Wars galaxy with a special collectible pint glass. While supplies last, rebel scum seeing the new movie at the Drafthouse will receive a limited edition pint glass with a ticket purchase. Several showing are already sold out, but tickets are available for most.

The Denver Art Museum announced special expanded hours for their exhibit, “Star Wars and the Power of Costume.” The special exhibition will remain open later on Thursday and Friday evenings in December, as well as weekend mornings, and open on the normally closed Martin Luther King Jr. and President’s Day holidays in January and February. It runs until April 2, 2017.

Tickets are available for a Wings Over the Rockies private screening of the new film. Following the showing, current Rocky Mountain Fan Force members will participate in a Cine-Talk Series, discussing the movie and the Star Wars universe. Tickets for the Denver event are sold out, but some are still available for the one in Colorado Springs.

Stoney’s Bar and Grill in downtown Denver is also joining in on the celebration. Wednesday night, H2Awesome will perform Star Wars-themed songs. Trivia and costume contests will also be held throughout the night. Details are available on their event page.
