It happened at the Hotel Colorado in Glenwood Springs, when a bighorn appears to catch a glimpse of and take offense to its own reflection, shattering the window.

The video, shot by Christian Addie, shows a few bighorns standing outside the hotel before the incident.

“Saw him kind of eyeing his reflection, guarding his ewes because they are rutting right now,” said Addie.

Most seem quite content to see the sights, maybe do a little shopping, until the one ram spots himself in the window and smashes it out with one go.

“I kind of see him bumping up against the glass a little bit, we were thinking they’re going to break it,” said Addie.

At that, all of the bighorns scatter, all appearing unhurt in the glass attack.

The window, though, is a total loss.

Bighorn sheep live across Colorado but typically stay in the bluffs overlooking Glenwood Springs. It’s unusual for the animals to come into a populated area of town.

“He looked like he was alright when he took off running, so… maybe just a bruised ego,” said Addie.

Addie was surprised by all the attention his video is receiving, “It went viral and I wasn’t expecting that. It started with just a few folks at work wanting to see it and my co-workers were like, ‘Send it to me, send it to me.'”
