ELIZABETH, Colo. (CBS4) – A wedding ring is back with its owner after it accidentally wound up inside a firefighter boot.

A couple from Elizabeth lost the ring while donating to the fire department’s Fill the Boot campaign. It was mixed in with loose change in their car’s ashtray.

The couple told the Elizabeth Fire Department they had been frantically looking for the ring for about a week.

The annual Fill the Boot campaign has raised more than $19,000 to fight muscular dystrophy.
