Pressure In On Broncos QBs On 'Every Single Snap'

By Michael Spencer

CENTENNIAL, Colo. (CBS4) - Broncos play-by-play voice Dave Logan joined the CBS4 Sports team for Xfinity Monday Live and gave his thoughts on training camp, including the current Broncos quarterback competition.

"I think what Gary (Kubiak) would like to have happen now is for somebody to surface a little bit," said Logan.

Mark Sanchez, Trevor Siemian, and Paxton Lynch have yet to separate themselves in the three-person race.

"There's pressure, in this particular training camp, on every single snap," said Logan of the ongoing battle.

The Broncos will host the San Francisco 49ers for two practice sessions on Wednesday and Thursday and then the two teams will play a preseason game in Denver on Saturday.

"It's really important for the quarterbacks," said Logan in regards to the week of practice with the 49ers. Gary Kubiak has said he'll use the two practice sessions as preseason games to better evaluate the quarterbacks and everyone on the roster.

While all eyes have been on the quarterbacks, the defense continues to be the heart and soul of the Broncos. The Broncos recorded seven sacks, an interception and held Chicago to a shutout in their first preseason game.

"It struck how fast they were," Logan said of the Broncos defense. "It's going to be a defense that has to be reckoned with."

The Broncos will kick off the regular season Sept. 8 when they host Carolina.
