Mudslides Close Highway 145 In San Miguel County

SAN MIGUEL COUNTY, Colo. (CBS4)- Mudslides measuring one to two feet in some areas of San Miguel County have closed Highway 145 in that area.

The highway is closed from Sawpit to Highway 62. The road is not passable because of the deep mud.

Deputies are working along with the Colorado Department of Transportation to clear the road.

Drivers have been urged to stay away from the area. There is no estimate on when the road will reopen.

The mudslides were caused by heavy rain in the region. There area also reports of large boulder falling at Silverpick.
