Small Grass Fire Shuts Down Highway 40 At Heritage Square
GOLDEN, Colo. (CBS4)- A small grass fire burning along Highway 40 at Heritage Square and Colfax Avenue closed the highway on Monday afternoon. It was started by a roman candle.
Fire crews from Golden and Pleasant View responded to the fire. Golden has requested assistance from West Metro Fire.
What caused the fire has been blamed on a roman candle that was set off in the area. Fire crews found the burned out firework in the burning brush.
The fire was completely extinguished less than 30 minutes later.
