Jose Reyes Returns To The Majors After Getting Shown The Door By Rockies
NEW YORK (CBS4/The Sports Xchange) - Jose Reyes made his first appearance in a major league game Tuesday night after his suspension and getting cut by the Rockies.

Ten days after signing to a minor league contract with his original team -- the New York Mets -- the veteran outfielder was added to the Mets' major league roster before Tuesday's game against the Miami Marlins.
Reyes, 33, was released by the Colorado Rockies last month after serving a 52-game suspension from Major League Baseball for allegedly physically assaulting his wife in a Hawaii hotel room last October.
The case was dropped, but Reyes still was required to undergo counseling upon his return to the majors.
The Rockies remain on the hook for the $39 million left on Reyes' contract. The Mets will owe him only the prorated portion of the major league minimum for the rest of this year, approximately $250,000.
Reyes is expected to play third base regularly for the Mets, and he also could see action in the outfield. He will replace third baseman Wilmer Flores, who went 1-for-3 on Sunday after going 6-for-6 on Saturday. Flores is batting .257 with a .315 on-base percentage, a .401 slugging percentage, five homers and 19 RBIs.
Reyes spent the first nine years of his major league career with the Mets before joining the Miami Marlins as a free agent following the 2011 season. He had a batting line of .274/.310/.378 for the Toronto Blue Jays and the Rockies last year.
Reyes, a four-time All-Star, has a career .290/.339/.431 hitting line with 118 homers, 621 RBIs and 479 stolen bases over 13 seasons.
