Officer Tony Lopez Jr. To Throw Out First Pitch In Rockies Home Opener
DENVER (CBS4) - A Denver police officer injured during a traffic stop shooting has been given a new assignment.
Officer Tony Lopez Jr. will throw out the first pitch at the Rockies' home opener Friday against the Padres.
Lopez underwent several surgeries and is undergoing physical therapy in order to get back on the job. He and his wife are also expecting their first child, so he wants to be ready.
Family and the first responders who saved his life will join him in Coors Field.
