Officer Stays By K9 All Night Following Emergency Surgery

FORT COLLINS, Colo. (CBS4) - A Fort Collins Police Services K9 underwent emergency surgery Thursday after his handler thought something seemed wrong with his partner.

When Officer Ross took Doc in for a trip to the vet, they found an intestinal obstruction that required the surgery.

Thankfully, "the surgery was successful," according to a Fort Collins Police Services Facebook post. "But veterinarians are still monitoring him for potentially serious complications."

Officer Ross stayed by Doc's side all night.

Doc's recovery is off to a good start, but they're asking you to "please keep this outstanding K9 and his partner in your thoughts!"
