Fired Muslim Cargill Meat Plant Employees File EEOC Complaints
FORT MORGAN, Colo. (CBS4) - Approximately 150 Cargill Meat Solutions employees fired from the Fort Morgan plant who have accused the company of federal employment discrimination have filed Equal Employment Opportunity Commission complaints.
The Muslim employees were fired in December after they skipped work for three days in protest. They say Cargill would not let them take a break to pray together.
Cargill says it allows breaks for praying, but it can't let that many people leave all at once. The company even changed its policy to allow the employees to reapply for the jobs after 30 days.
