DA: Shooting Of Suspect Justified After Officer Injured
DENVER (CBS4)- The shooting of a suspect who allegedly fired on a Denver police officer several times last December has been determined to be justified.
Officer Tony Lopez was seriously injured in the shooting at 37th and Federal on Dec. 8, 2015. He was shot six times and lost a lot of blood.
Lopez continues to undergo physical therapy for his injuries. He has endured three surgeries and there are still bullets in his legs with painful wounds and scars throughout his body.
The suspect he shot, Jason Wood, survived. He is facing several charges in connection with the crime.
