WHEAT RIDGE, Colo. (CBS4)– The man wanted in last week’s stabbing in Wheat Ridge has been found dead in Cheyenne, Wyo.

An arrest warrant had been issued for Andrew Howton for attempted first-degree murder in connection with the stabbing that occurred at the Howard Johnson Hotel in Wheat Ridge on Thursday morning. When officers arrived at 12100 West 44th Avenue they found a woman suffering from multiple stab wounds to the neck and face.

Police confirm that Howton, 43, was found dead about 9:30 p.m. Friday at a hotel in Cheyenne. Also at the hotel was a black 2007 Nissan Frontier that was reported stolen in Wheat Ridge the same day as the stabbing.

After about five hours and attempted negotiations, law enforcement in Wyoming entered Howton’s hotel room and found him deceased from a suspected self-inflicted gunshot wound.
