Dozens Rally For Equal Pay For Women

DENVER (CBS4)- Dozens gathered at the state Capitol on Thursday for a rally calling for equal pay for women.

According to research from the Women's Foundation of Colorado, women across the state make 80 cents for every dollar a man makes. For women of color, the gap is even wider.

Lily Griego lives in Wheat Ridge and says she's experienced the gender pay gap firsthand.

"I came to know the struggle personally by working for several years in a job with the same title and job description as my two male counterparts who earned significantly more than I did at Jefferson County," said Griego.

After the rally, lawmakers introduced a package of bills in the state House calling for equal pay.
