First Lawsuit Filed Over Chipotle E. Coli Outbreak

DENVER (CBS4) - The first lawsuit has been filed over the Chipotle E. coli outbreak and health officials now say 39 people have gotten sick.

Those who got sick include Chamaine Denise Mode. She says she got violently ill shortly after eating at a Chipotle in Vancouver, Washington, last month.

Mode is seeking at least $75,000 in her federal lawsuit. Chipotle has not commented.

The Denver-based chain closed 43 restaurants in Washington and Oregon because of the outbreak. It's still working to pinpoint the source.
