Sleepwalker Talks About Her 9-Mile Journey In Socks
ARVADA, Colo. (CBS4)- The teenager who walked nine miles away from her home in Arvada in the middle of the night last month is talking about her journey.
Taylor Gammel told GMA her story on Tuesday morning, "It's a shock to me that I made it this far."
Gammel,19, disappeared near 56th Place and Fig Way in Arvada early Oct. 27. Her father said he noticed her missing at approximately 6 a.m. but that her car was still parked at the house.
The bloodhound had tracked her scent to a bus stop at 58th and Ward but then lost it there.
That's when Taylor's uncle called police and said she was safe and had turned up at his home in Westminster on 96th Place, about nine miles away from her home in Arvada.
"The first thing I remember is just walking, it kind of took me a minute to realize I wasn't dreaming but that I was actually walking," said Gammel.
Gammel said when she woke up she recognized the movie theater and she knew she was close to her uncle's home.
Gammel was not hurt but was only wearing socks on her feet. She did say her feet and legs were sore, "Yeah they hurt really bad for a while."
