2 Sunroofs Shatter Under Overpasses On I-25 Near Fort Collins

FORT COLLINS, Colo. (CBS4) - There was quite a scare for two drivers along Interstate 25 near Fort Collins after two sunroofs shattered just about an hour apart.

The first was Monday afternoon between Windsor and Harmony Road. About an hour later another sunroof shattered between Highway 14 and the Mountain Vista exit along the interstate.

Both happened as the cars traveled under overpasses. The Colorado State Patrol says it doesn't appear any projectile was fired at the cars.

Authorities say so far there is no reason to believe the cases could be tied to a series of shattered car windows in Northern Colorado.

A task force is investigating three shootings in Northern Colorado last spring. William Connole was shot and killed while walking near his home in Loveland. John Jacoby was shot and killed while riding his bicycle in Windsor. That case has been tied to a shooting that injured a young woman driving near I-25 and Harmony Road in Fort Collins.
