More Than 200 Events Featured During 'Denver Startup Week'

DENVER (CBS4) - New business owners are gearing up for Denver Startup Week that kicks off on Monday.

Over the past year organizers picked the best local startup ideas from more than 600 submissions. Those entries will be showcased this week along with workshops, presentations and expert panels to help people grow their startups.

Tami Door, co-founder of Denver Startup Week, stopped by CBS4 Studios to talk about the event.

"Throughout the past year we reached out to the community and asked them to submit all of their ideas for sessions and we had over 600 submission ideas," Door said. "The community then voted; they have over 200 events in the coming week."

Door said everything is free.

"That's really the beauty and the power of Denver Startup Week," she said. "Startups are really important to the community. We like to grow our own."

Throughout the week people can visit small events where they can talk to technology experts. They can also go to large events like the Kickoff Breakfast on Monday morning.

"We'll be featuring some very renowned local entrepreneurs," Door said.

The opening party is being held at Union Station Monday morning. For more information visit denverstartupweek.org.
