JOHNSTOWN, Colo. (CBS4) – It was a mess for drivers trying to make it onto Interstate 25 from eastbound Highway 34 Monday morning following a fatal crash.

The wreck near the Promenade Shops east of I-25 closed the eastbound lanes during rush hour. According to Trooper Nate Reid with the Colorado State Patrol, a 1995 green Ford Ranger was westbound on Highway 34 when the driver lost control, went into the median and rolled. The truck came to a rest in the eastbound lanes.

The driver, a man in his 20s, was taken to the Medical Center of the Rockies in Loveland where he died. His name hasn’t been released.

Troopers don’t believe alcohol was a factor in the crash. The driver wasn’t wearing a seat belt.

It took about two hours to get everything reopened.
