Know Any Moberlys, Petersons Or Smiths? Springs Police Have Some Important Memorabilia

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (CBS4) - Police in Colorado Springs are trying to track down a family that may have lost some important memorabilia.

Police officers found a memory box in a stolen car that has family photos dating back to 1918. It also included postcards and letters.

Crime analysts did a genealogy search using names on the photographs. They traced the family to Elbert and Englewood with names including Moberly, Peterson, and Smith.

"Unfortunately detectives were unable to link the box or the family names to current stolen property," police said in a statement.

Additional Information From The Colorado Springs Police Department

Detectives would like to reunite these sentimental photographs with their rightful owners. If you know the owners of this box or you are the owner please contact the Colorado Springs Police Department at (719) 444-7000.
