Decomposed Woman's Body Found Near Eisenhower Tunnel By CDOT Worker
BRECKENRIDGE, Colo. (AP/CBS4) - Authorities are investigating a homicide in Summit County.
The Summit County Sheriff's Office says a female's body was found along Interstate 70 near the Eisenhower Tunnel at about 1:30 p.m. Sunday by a Colorado Department of Transportation worker.
The victim's name, age and cause of death aren't known.
An autopsy has been scheduled and the Colorado Bureau of Investigation is looking into the death.
"The body was decomposed to some degree, so length of time and things like that will be determined after the autopsy," Taneil Ilano with the Summit County Sheriff's Office said. ""Investigators are working to try and ID the individual. We have no age, we just pretty much know it's a female."
No other information has been released.
