DENVER (CBS4) – CBS4 was pleased to have three Colorado athletes who all won medals at the recent Special Olympics World Games in Los Angeles stop by the station on Wednesday.

Nikia Davenport won three medals in power lifting including gold in bench press. Chris McElroy won a gold in swimming, and Julian Hall a silver in tennis.

The World Games included 6,500 athletes from more than 170 countries.

“The best part of the week was getting a gold medal in front of my whole family, especially my girlfriend; and cheering on all of the other athletes that were competing before I was,” McElroy said.
