Task Force Investigates Farmland North Of Loveland

LOVELAND, Colo. (CBS4) - Over a dozen law enforcement agents with the special Northern Colorado Task Force lined up in front of a family-run dairy in Loveland on Thursday.

The group, investigating a string of roadside shootings, began at 8:30 a.m. and spent a full day digging with their hands and combing with machines, looking for evidence off County Road 9.

The scene is becoming more common as investigators continue to follow up on tips about a possible serial shooter in the area.

Little is known about what they were looking for, and a spokesperson for the task force said only that it was in response to a tip.

Members of the FBI's evidence team searched along Boyd Lake Avenue for hours, focusing their attention on a small embankment just outside the Mountain View Dairy.

The site was about seven miles from where a man was shot and killed last month. Someone else reported they were shot not far from there.

The owner of the dairy, Shelly Dickinson, released a statement saying, "All I want to do is help the task force find the person guilty of these crimes and unfortunately my land was stuck in the middle of it, but I hope they found whatever they were looking for."

This is the second time in several weeks that the members of the task force have been out searching. They remain tight-lipped about what they're looking for.
