Big Crowds Expected At Bear Creek Lake Over Weekend

LAKEWOOD, Colo. (CBS4)- Big crowds are expected at Bear Creek Lake Park over the 4th of July holiday weekend.

Park officials predict the area will reach capacity early each weekend day because of the limited areas of use at Chatfield State Park at the hot temperatures.

Once the parking lot is full officials will close the main gate until spaces open up.

The crowds aren't deterring anyone from heading outside to have fun.

"How can there be a damper on the 4th of July with skies like this and a beautiful day?" said park visitor Angela Atkinson.

Weekend hours at Bear Creek Lake Park are 6 a.m. until 10 p.m.
