ROUTT COUNTY, Colo. (CBS4)– The man arrested after a manhunt through the wilderness that was initiated after a woman’s body was found bound face down in a home near Steamboat Springs, has been charged with first-degree murder.
Cole Pollard was charged with first-degree murder, burglary and theft. Pollard, 22, remained in custody without bond on Thursday.
The body of Patricia Richmond, 23, was found bound and face down inside a home near Steamboat Springs on Monday night.
Deputies say Pollard admitted to tying up Richmond, raping her and then choking her to death.
Pollard was found about 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Trappers Lake Recreational Area just hours after the SUV he was driving was located. Investigators say several guns were missing from the home where the murder happened and found with Pollard near a campsite where the SUV was located.
